In Swedish massage, the pressure is directed so to favour the venous return. The movements can be slow and delicate, or vigorous and intense, depending on the purpose of the massage.
The primary goals of the Swedish massage are the general relaxation, the reduction of muscle stiffness, the blood circulation stimulation, the relief of pain, the improvement of the tissue oxygenation and muscle tone, and body detox.
